My Cost of Upgrading To Snow Leopard : EveryJoe

Good post on the true cost of upgrading to Snow Leopard when taking into account every upgrade one has to purchase to make be compatible. Not enough people think or write about this additional cost of “doing business” whenever upgrading your operating system.

The often-overlooked cost of upgrading software to work after an OS upgrade isn’t something to be dismissed. But it is worth pointing out that of of his list of 15 apps, 3 required paid upgrades to work in Snow Leopard:

  1. Adobe Creative Suite 3. CS4 has been out since Mid-2007.
  2. 1Password works fine, but v3, a major update, works better.
  3. Parallels. Sucks, buy VMWare instead of upgrading.
