Major Arthur Manchek, Scoop Mission Control A-12. I recommend calling a Wildfire Alert. We have evidence here on film of unnatural death caused by Scoop 7 returning to earth.
In 1865, the unconquered Matterhorn beckons; former rivals, Italian Carrel and Englishman Whymper, hope to climb it together, but national rivalry intervenes. Rival parties dangerously race for the summit in realistic, well-photographed climbing scenes; but when the mountain is climbed, the danger is far from over…
So, that was the third time through Senna, and I cried the hardest yet.
We all know what an incredible driver Ayrton was, but he was so much more, he was such an incredible person. He worked so hard, meant so much to so many people, and cared so much about them. The Instituto Ayrton Senna has educated more than 12 million Brazilian children, but how much more could he have done if… if so many things. If he hadn’t raced at Imola. If whatever happened to the car hasn’t happened. If the suspension hadn’t hit him in just the wrong place. If, if if.
I mentioned it already, but the only thing that gives me comfort about the accident was that Sid Watkins was right there with him. Professor Sid is such an incredible man in his own right, was such a friend to Ayrton, did so much for the sport and the drivers… I am so glad he was there, for Ayrton, for everyone, for me.
Just finished watching Senna for the first time
And I’ll admit it: I cried. I cried so hard that I gave myself a bloody nose.
I’ll also admit that I downloaded a copy of the movie a while back and watched it, but it wasn’t anywhere near this good. It had a lot of interview shots mixed in, and the subtitles weren’t very good. This was incredible, though.
It just hit the US iTunes Store, so if you’re in the States and haven’t seen it yet, or even if you have, go now.
